Machine wash warm, dry flat.
Merino 400 Lace by Lang
A favorite from Lang, a beautifully spun 2-ply lace weight super fine merino. This yarn is 100% wool, no synthetic binder necessary. It has more elasticity than the wool/silk blends, so it's easy to knit. So soft, and blocks out beautifully. Great for lace projects of every level of difficulty, and anywhere a fine yarn is needed. Easily knits double or triple stranded (try mixing colors!).

  • 100% Super Fine Merino Wool
  • 32 stitches & 42 rows over 4" for a solid fabric
  • Needle size is variable depending on pattern
  • 25 gram ball is about 220 yards (199m)

"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" is now embodied in a wonderful worsted yarn with Lang quality that you can rely on! This yarn is made from used jeans, first cut into strips, frayed into fibers, cleaned and re-spun into a soft 100% cotton yarn. No new fibers are used for this yarn, the jeans have a second life, and a new product is produced! Knitted into unique and creative garments, it's full of pleasure and fun. This yarn has great stitch definition and is very well suited to both textural stitches and open work.
  • 100% Recyled Cotton

    Gamma by Lang

Gamma is a classic cotton yarn very familiar to fans of Lang yarns. Gamma is a thin knitted tube of very, very fine cotton threads, so it's not as heavy per yard as a solid cotton. It has a clean crisp look that is excellent for fancy stitch work, cables, and open lacy patterns. 100% Cotton. A 50 gram ball contains about 180 yards, which is a marvelous light weight cotton suitable for medium sized needles. This cotton yarn is great for year round wear. The beautiful clear colors that Lang is known for are especially lovely in Gamma.

What a great addition to Alpaca SuperLight--an ultra thin polyester metallic thread paired with the super-soft, super-fine, super-luxurious, super-light alpaca yarn from Lang. This yarn has a light halo, yet is less transparent than most brushed yarns. No tickle or scratch like mohair, none of the itchiness you might expect with a feathery yarn.

    Sansibar, by Lang

What a gorgeous yarn, and so disappointing that it is now discontinued but of course that means a great bargain for you! Once again the masters at Lang have proven they are the best when it comes to blending fibers: Sansibar is a single ply wool blend, with an engaging shine from the viscose, and strength from the nylon. As usual, the Lang colors are striking and yet balanced, and so appealing. This yarn is well suited to using by itself, or combined with another yarn. Use it for any pattern asking for a sport weight wool.

    Amalfi
    by Lang

What a great look and feel in yarn introduced by Lang. It is honestly "something completely different!" This yarn is a solid cotton core, wrapped with shiny nylon, giving both comfort in warm weather plus just a hint of glitz.

It has a lot of body to it, so it looks like shiny silk without all the drapey, saggy-ness of silk. I have swatched it myself, and washed it, and it gets a bit softer, but is still firm enough to hold the design features of more structured patterns. At the same time it will produce a great lacy fabric!

    Alpaca Degrade
    by Lang

A light to wear, colorful yarn with an exceptionally long color repeat. Brushed Alpaca is a soft alternative to mohair, and there is just enough wool and nylon to minimize shedding. This is a fabulous opportunity to let the yarn do all the work: stitch patterning is not appropriate for this multi-color, fuzzy yarn. Unusual directional knitting such as entrelac, though, could be extremely effective. The beautiful Lang colors are so appealing, and will create a garment or afghan that will be a favorite.

    • 70% Alpaca, 15% New Wool, 15% Nylon
    • 25g is about 147 yards
    • Recommended needle size is US 6-8 (4-5 mm)
    • Gauge is about 18 stitches and 27 rows in 4" (10 cm)

    Giulia by Lang
What a stunning year-round yarn! This rayon yarn is a knitted construction, with just enough nylon in it for some visual texture. Not too hot-- rayon yarn is great for warmer climates or all year round in the office. Easy to knit, it won't hang up on itself or your needles. Great for crochet too. 50 gram balls contain about 82 yards each, and the gauge is 4 stitches per inch on #9 needles, making this an Aran weight rayon yarn. Very classy, it's not too drapey so it's good for stitch patterning, and there are several colors that are suitable for men. A long sleeved women's sweater with 40" bust will take about 14-15 balls.

Another innovation by Lang. A slightly variegated, premium hand knitting yarn, especially designed for felting. The nylon helps to stabilize the felted fiber, and the spandex adds just enough stretch to help with wet shaping. Don't felt? Not to worry: this yarn has a gorgeous boucle construction that's very pretty when knitted--just choose a smaller needle and check your gauge.

    Zero
    by Lang

ZERO is made from 100% extra fine merino, treated to make it superwash. Because it has a knitted construction, ZERO is not prone to pilling and is distinctive for its lightness and airiness.

Recommended needle size is US 6-7 (4- 4.5 mm)
Gauge is about 21 stitches and 30 rows in 4" (10 cm)

Riva is a new classic, a unique cotton blend yarn for spring and summer. Two knitted yarns are printed and spun separately, to give Riva a special color effect, with beautiful repeats and combinations. The colorways are so fresh, making the designs so fresh to wear. You can't help but smile when you see this wonderful yarn.

Patterns are from the Fatto a Mano 231 and 232.

    Filo
    by Lang

Filo is a solid cotton core, wrapped with shiny nylon, giving both comfort in warm weather plus just a hint of glitz. The main difference from Amalfi is a smaller gauge, which provides a lot more versatility for Filo.

It has a lot of body to it, so it looks like shiny silk without all the drapey, saggy-ness of silk. It gets a bit softer when washed, but is still firm enough to hold the design features of more structured patterns. At the same time it will produce a great lacy fabric!

    • 75% combed Cotton, 24% Nylon
    • 25 stitches & 34 rows = 4 inches
    • US 3-4 needles (3-3.5 mm)
    • 50 gram ball is about 220 yards (200m)
    • Machine wash gentle, dry flat, do not use fabric softener
    • Woman's medium (36") long sleeved pullover takes approximately 300 g (6 balls)
    Merino 130 Compact
A very, very different merino yarn! This is super-fine merino spun in an extra tight twist, with an anti-felting finish, and dyed in all those beautiful Lang colors. This is a sport weight yarn that displays unsurpassed stitch definition. And so soft next to the skin. Merino 130 Compact originally sold for $14.00 per ball.

We suspect that this yarn did not sell well in the US because of the smaller needle size required. But if you want an heirloom project, this yarn is perfect. We have limited quantities of certain colors, so order soon.

    • 100% merino wool
    • 50g ball = about 142 yd (130 m)
    • 23 st to 4" on US 4-5 needles
    • Machine or hand wash warm, lay flat to dry, or dry clean (although personally I would hand wash). Do not use fabric softener.
