Merino 400 Lace by Lang
A favorite from Lang, a beautifully spun 2-ply lace weight super fine merino. This yarn is 100% wool, no synthetic binder necessary. It has more elasticity than the wool/silk blends, so it's easy to knit. So soft, and blocks out beautifully. Great for lace projects of every level of difficulty, and anywhere a fine yarn is needed. Easily knits double or triple stranded (try mixing colors!).

  • 100% Super Fine Merino Wool
  • 32 stitches & 42 rows over 4" for a solid fabric
  • Needle size is variable depending on pattern
  • 25 gram ball is about 220 yards (199m)
  • Hand wash, dry flat, do not use fabric softener
  • Woman's plain medium (36") long sleeved pullover takes approximately 300 g (12 balls)
  • For machine knitting: Equivalent to 2/16 or 3/24 wool; about 4000 yards per pound, suitable for DB standard or Passap
Imported from Great Britain. This is the authentic yarn for Traditional Aran knitting. Rich in Natural Lanolin for added protection from the elements.
Merino 6
Machine washable 100% merino wool in a DK/light worsted weight. This is a great all-purpose yarn with a nice firm twist--the softness comes from the fine quality merino rather than an airy spin. Great for children and adults alike, and the price was always great at under $10, but discontinued?? Wow! we guarantee you cannot find a better quality wool at this price. You will not be disappointed!!

  • 50g = about 136 yards
  • Machine washable gentle, lay flat to dry
  • 22 st = 4" on US 6 needles

Airolo is a 6-ply, classic handknitting yarn of 100% pure wool from Corriedale sheep from Patagonia. Corriedale wool is light to white in colour when undyed and has a staple length of 80 - 100mm. This yarn is treated in order to be non-felting, so it is easy-care. Corriedale wool has been treasured for generations for softness and strength. Suitable for all knitting projects.

Composition 100% pure new wool (Corriedale)
100 g ball is about 150m (163 yards)
Best knitted on US size 9-10 needles.

Look what we found in our warehouse! Elements Natural Rustic Lambswool Yarn by Louet

This completely natural lambswool is put up in 100g skeins. I describe it as "rustic" because it has the hand of natural, minimally processed wool. This is a 2-ply yarn, which means that these plies are much heavier than a yarn spun with 4, 6, or 8 plies, and this gives the yarn real substance. It is not super soft--it is not merino or superwash. This yarn is sturdy and robust--it feels like real wool. Not necessarily a next-to-the-skin yarn, but it is certainly soft enough for any cardigan or outerwear, or very appropriate for home decor, blankets or pillows. Not dyed, this yarn is the natural color of the lambs.

This yarn has been "lost" in our warehouse until we found it today, probably since we moved from Maryland. Currently, pure lambswool is rarely available, and the ones that are out there have been heavily processed to compete with merinos & such. Prices range from $18-40 per 100g skein depending on the source, so we know that all of you who appreciate this sort of honest, authentic lambswool yarn will be very happy with our price.

Donegal
by Lang

Tweed is back in fashion (did it ever really leave?) and Donegal is the beautiful 100% wool tweed from Lang. Not scratchy at all, this gorgeous tweed yarn has an extra soft hand. The tweedy flecks are subtle and sophisticated, and the yarn itself is tightly spun with a slight thickness variation for textural interest. This is a yarn especially good for men's knitwear--men love it.

  • 100% Merino Wool
  • 22 stitches & 30 rows over 4"
  • US 5-6 needles (3 1/2 - 4 mm)
  • 50 gram ball is about 200 yards (190m)

  • Woman's medium (36") long sleeved pullover takes approximately 300 g (about 6 balls)
Merino 12
This is the same machine washable 100% merino wool as Merino 6, only in a big chunky weight. This is a great all-purpose yarn with a nice firm twist--the softness comes from the fine quality merino rather than an airy spin. Great for children and adults alike, and the price is a great value for this quality. You will not be disappointed!
