Studio
Another innovation by Lang. A slightly variegated, premium hand knitting yarn, especially designed for felting. Don't felt? Not to worry: this yarn has a gorgeous boucle construction that's very pretty when knitted.
Tonalita
Designer yarn by Trendsetter

This multi-colored yarn stripes in a predictable way, making it great for plain stockinette, garter stitch, large mitered squares, and other techniques.
Linda is a winner for year round wear! This medium gauge yarn is a chained construction for lots of volume with minimal weight. It has a subtle sheen, and comes in beautifully intriguing but neutral shades that reflect light. Exceptionally soft and very fashionable!

Linda is a marvelous blend of linen, rayon, and acrylic, and wonderful for crochet too! Knit a simple top to wear on its own all summer, then under a jacket for work the rest of the year!

  • 46% acrylic, 43% Viscose, 11% Linen
  • 20 stitches & 28 rows = 4 inches on US 8 needles (5 mm)

  • Machine wash warm, gentle, use detergent for fine wash, dry flat.
  • Woman's medium (36") long sleeved pullover takes approximately 550 g (11 balls)

Frontier
Designer yarn by Trendsetter

Explore a new frontier in your knitting and crochet with this multi-colored, multi-textured yarn that has no discernible repeat. Uneven striping results from plain knitting, but this yarn really shines when used in multi-directional knitting, including mitered squares, entrelac, and diagonal pieces. Some elongated or drop stitch patterns, and some brioche stitches would also show a different look for your knitting. Use Frontier alone, or mix with Merino 8 for so many combinations. Your imagination is the only limit!

Frontier is a soft and snuggly wool blend of 52% wool and 49% acrylic, and every ball contains portions that are solids, marls, thin and thick. Knits up quickly to an Aran gauge of 4 st to the inch on US 10 needles. Hand wash cold, dry cleaning is recommended. A 50 gram ball is about 115 yards.
  • 52% Wool, 48% Acrylic
  • Use size 10 needle, 6 mm
  • 50 g skeins
  • About 115 yards per skein
  • 4 stitches = 1"
  • Dry Clean or hand wash cold.

Amalfi
by Lang

What a great look and feel in yarn introduced by Lang. It is honestly "something completely different!" This yarn is a solid cotton core, wrapped with shiny nylon, giving both comfort in warm weather plus just a hint of glitz.

It has a lot of body to it, so it looks like shiny silk without all the drapey, saggy-ness of silk. I have swatched it myself, and washed it, and it gets a bit softer, but is still firm enough to hold the design features of more structured patterns. At the same time it will produce a great lacy fabric!
  • 70% combed Cotton, 30% Nylon
  • 18 stitches & 25 rows = 4 inches
  • US 7-8 needles (4.5-5 mm)
  • 50 gram ball is about 99 yards (90m)
  • Hand wash, dry flat, do not use fabric softener
  • Woman's medium (36") long sleeved pullover takes approximately 400 g (8 balls)

Alpaca Degrade
by Lang

A light to wear, colorful yarn with an exceptionally long color repeat. Brushed Alpaca is a soft alternative to mohair, and there is just enough wool and nylon to minimize shedding. This is a fabulous opportunity to let the yarn do all the work: stitch patterning is not appropriate for this multi-color, fuzzy yarn. Unusual directional knitting such as entrelac, though, could be extremely effective. The beautiful Lang colors are so appealing, and will create a garment or afghan that will be a favorite.

  • 70% Alpaca, 15% New Wool, 15% Nylon
  • 25g is about 147 yards
  • Recommended needle size is US 6-8 (4-5 mm)
  • Gauge is about 18 stitches and 27 rows in 4" (10 cm)
  • Hand wash, lay flat to dry, or dry clean.
There are patterns for Alpaca Degrade in Fatto a Mano 199

Giulia by Lang
What a stunning year-round yarn! This rayon yarn is a knitted construction, with just enough nylon in it for some visual texture. Not too hot-- rayon yarn is great for warmer climates or all year round in the office. Easy to knit, it won't hang up on itself or your needles. Great for crochet too. 50 gram balls contain about 82 yards each, and the gauge is 4 stitches per inch on #9 needles, making this an Aran weight rayon yarn. Very classy, it's not too drapey so it's good for stitch patterning, and there are several colors that are suitable for men. A long sleeved women's sweater with 40" bust will take about 14-15 balls.

Super stitch definition from an extra soft merino! Beautiful Lang colors great for any basic pattern, to create a garment that will be a favorite in your wardrobe for many many years.

ZERO is made from 100% extra fine merino, treated to make it superwash. Because it has a knitted construction, ZERO is not prone to pilling and is distinctive for its lightness and airiness.

Recommended needle size is US 6-7 (4- 4.5 mm)
Gauge is about 21 stitches and 30 rows in 4" (10 cm)
Machine wash warm, lay flat to dry.

Merino 8
Machine washable 100% merino wool in worsted weight. This is a great all-purpose yarn with a nice firm twist--the softness comes from the fine quality merino rather than an airy spin. Great for children and adults alike, and the price was always great at under $10, but discontinued?? Wow! we guarantee you cannot find a better quality wool at this price. You will not be disappointed!!

  • 50g = about 100yards
  • Machine washable gentle, lay flat to dry
  • 20 st = 4" on US 8 needles

Good Earth Worsted Linen Blend
by Fibra Natura

Good Earth is a soft cotton/linen blend that's easy on the hands and a pleasure to work with. We don't usually carry cotton yarns that knit to worsted or Aran gauge, because they can be so heavy to wear, and they easily stretch out of shape. Also, multi-ply cottons that are spun like wools so they are soft can shed and pill badly. The linen in this blend helps with all these problems, because linen is lighter and longer staple than cotton. These are the solid colors, which easily coordinate with the "Adorn" mottled colors for interesting looks in all sorts of garments.
  • 100 g = about 170 yards (155 M)
  • 53% Cotton, 47% Linen
  • Worsted, Afghan, Aran
  • About 5 st/inch on Needles: 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, About 3 st/inch on Hooks: I-9, J-10, K-10.5
  • hand wash, do not bleach, dry flat
Super-soft Seraina is simply stunning! The yarn is composed of a super delicate, semi-transparent knitted tube filled with colored, airy nylon for a special color effect and outstanding lightness and volume.

Apres Ski
by Knit One Crochet Too

Great for any worsted or Aran weight project, from accessories to sweaters to afghans and more! Apres Ski is a super soft and squishy wool/nylon blend yarn in a heavier worsted weight. This yarn has a smooth twist that is easy to knit or crochet, and creates wonderful stitch definition in its bold and bright variety of colors.

This is our first yarn from Knit One Crochet Too, a highly respected brand name and a company dedicated to first quality yarns. You may know this brand from Ty Dye Cotton, the best known and long standing favorite yarn.

Looking for a lofty yarn with a soft feel, lots of yardage and clear, bright, colors? From colorwork to cables, APRES SKI is the perfect choice.

  • 70% wool, 30% nylon
  • 100g skeins contain 197 yards (180m)
  • 17-18 st = 4" on US 7-8 needles (4.5-5 mm); Use a 5mm hook for crochet
  • Hand wash, lay flat to dry. The manufacturer claims no shrinkage in a washing machine, but there may be undesirable fulling. However, this yarn is not a classic felting yarn and we would not recommend it for felting.
  • A fabulous value: a 40" stockinette woman's sweater will take 6 skeins, about $45!! Can't beat it!

Forest Dew
Exotic Fiber Blend — Aran Weight

Another fantastic creation from Lotus Yarns! This elegant yarn is a heavenly blend of angora, merino wool, tencel, and cashmere. So soft and light it is hard to believe. The colors are rich and true.

One 50g ball of Forest Dew Aran has 96 yards, and will knit up quickly on US 8 needles (5mm) in your favorite worsted weight pattern.

Although the blend has 30% merino, there is very little elasticity in this yarn, so it drapes beautifully and is light enough to hold a rib pattern. Treat it as a vegetable fiber, and do swatch for accurate measurements.

  • 50g skeins
  • 96 yards (~88m)
  • Hand wash, lay flat to dry
  • Use US 8 needles (5mm) for a solid fabric
  • 4½ stitches per inch in stockinette

Vivienne
by Lang

This yarn is just luscious and light. Light to wear, and voluminous enough to take a US 10 needle in order to knit a worsted gauge.
Vivienne is a knitted cord, 95% merino with just enough nylon to add strength and durability. This construction adds loft, stitch definition, and resists pilling.

Of course, the Lang colors are beautifully clean and true, and right off the runway. Even the palest colors have impact, and every one will show off your stitchery.

There are many attractive patterns for this yarn in the pattern books,

Look what we found in our warehouse! Elements Natural Rustic Lambswool Yarn by Louet

This completely natural lambswool is put up in 100g skeins. I describe it as "rustic" because it has the hand of natural, minimally processed wool. This is a 2-ply yarn, which means that these plies are much heavier than a yarn spun with 4, 6, or 8 plies, and this gives the yarn real substance. It is not super soft--it is not merino or superwash. This yarn is sturdy and robust--it feels like real wool. Not necessarily a next-to-the-skin yarn, but it is certainly soft enough for any cardigan or outerwear, or very appropriate for home decor, blankets or pillows. Not dyed, this yarn is the natural color of the lambs.

This yarn has been "lost" in our warehouse until we found it today, probably since we moved from Maryland. Currently, pure lambswool is rarely available, and the ones that are out there have been heavily processed to compete with merinos & such. Prices range from $18-40 per 100g skein depending on the source, so we know that all of you who appreciate this sort of honest, authentic lambswool yarn will be very happy with our price.

100g each skein = 170 yd per skein

Sol Degrade
by Lang
Sol Degrade is a gorgeously soft tape yarn with the attractive addition of a gradual tonal dye. Made of the finest combed cotton, Sol gives you the quick knit of a worsted weight yarn without all the weight of traditional cotton. Light weight, cool, and breezy like cotton should be, Sol Degrade is perfect for warmer weather or days inside air conditioned offices.

This yarn is great for both plain knits and textural stitchery, such as horseshoe cables. Easier to knit than plain cotton, since the tape structure is more elastic.

Sol Degrade is interchangeable with Sol Luxe and Sol for patterns, so there are many patterns for this yarn in the Fatto a Mano books.
  • 100% combed Cotton, tape style yarn
  • 19 stitches & 27 rows = 4 inches
